Road Trip

We are off on a road trip. We have passed through South Australia quite a few times but it has been many years since we spent any time there on a holiday. The primary focus of the trip is Kangaroo Island and we will spend some time in the 'wine regions'

Bound for the Barossa Valley, Ballarat was our first stop. After an early start we needed coffee.

The travelling crew, Ray, Tina and Frank.

A good passenger makes the most of their time. I plan to come home with a finished blanket.

A picnic lunch in Horsham

Our home in the Barossa - Queens Cottage, luxuriously appointed and conveniently located.

As you would expect in the Barossa, there has been some wine tasting

Many of the wineries have sculptures and artworks for me to admire whilst the crew are tasting.

And a visit to Maggie Beer's Farm Shop

So many products to try

Some bushwalking

And dining, lots of excellent dining!

The first night was a simple dinner at a nearby pub. Delicious SA King George whiting.
Then FermentAsian
And on our last day Hentley Farm

The touring views, blue sky, sunny weather and grape vines

A beautiful vine covered metal pergola, seriously thinking about something like this for my house.

Roses in full bloom, so many colours and lots of perfume.

and brightly planted garden beds

Gazanias everywhere, large drifts that seem to have naturalised and possibly considered weeds
