Progress Report

Half way through the class and having a good time. This class is all about making connections. Day one was spent creating an installation or assemblage of our stuff and then an examination of British influences on stitchery. This was followed by some fun and contempory ways of distorting threads to create spaces in fabric similar to pulled and drawn thread work.  Day two was all about African stitching techniques.

Today I used a 'found object' the chatelaine, covered it with muslin, gesso and then stitched on some of the pieces from day one.


The assemblage - decided against using the coloured stuff and decided to work in whites and cream
