Tumblers Quilt

Yesterday, mistakenly, I thought Winter had arrived and put a warmer quilt on the bed. Perhaps a little too early as it has a woollen batting and is very warm. Today it was replaced with this one. It is smaller and much lighter as the batting is a lightweight cotton.

Another scrap quilt. I purchased it as an unfinished project from a dealer, it was listed as circa 1930 - 40. The bag had all the tumbler pieces cut and some were sewn together. I finished piecing the top and added the pink borders. Hand quilted with a simple outline design.

The fabrics are an eclectic collection and many had been mended or faded which suggested that they had been washed repeatedly.
