Costume Capers

I recently made this costume for Avalon to celebrate the end of Year 12. Her school had a dress up day with a Disney theme, she opted to be Ursula from The Little Mermaid. She had researched the idea and found the instructions on You Tube. The individual tentacles are wired and stuffed so that they can be twisted and curled up and then threaded onto a belt. The seaweed underskirt is lots of strips of black tuille, knotted over elastic. All that is needed to complete the look is some makeup, a trident and a shell necklace.

This is the the outfit being tried on.

A trial run of the makeup

On the day, ready to go

In full swing

It was a pleasure to make the costume for her and I was so pleased that she asked for my help.
