Sing a Song of Sixpence

This year the Geelong Guild's annual Quilt In had the theme of nursery rhymes. Members were encouraged to create a hat based on a nursey rhyme.  I love any opportunity to dress up so  as  the MC - did not  need any encouragement to participate.

My lovely fascinator, a pie made from air drying clay, a paper blackbird and a four and twenty sign - made it easy for people to work out the nursery rhyme.

Such a buzz, close to 300 ladies, door prizes, lucky numbers, raffles, lots of shops and traders, fantastic guest speakers and a plentiful supply of sweet treats and refreshments. It was fabulous fun.

 I could not resist

this plastic sewing clam - perfect for storing my bobbins

or

this bundle of woollen fabrics, great for heavily stitched embroidery

or

some of this sari silk so that I can make another basket like this one

and generously from the committee

a sketchbook, some gorgeous proteas and a cute suffolk puff brooch.
