More from King Island

King Island is a relatively small island, 1098 square kilometres with approximate population of 1,600 and with our trusty hire car we set about exploring as possible. Our motto - if it can be visited we are there. Famous for it’s agriculture, wildlife and maritime history.

The lighthouse at Currie.

Three golf courses, perfect the ‘lads’. All links courses, here they were taking on  Cape Wickham which is ranked second in Australia. A very challenging experience!

The Kelp Factory, dried and exported to Norway and Scotland.

This amazing calcified forest, not really trees but limestone structures

Looking back at the coast from the Naracoopa Jetty

This enormous rusted anchor, just resting against the rocks

Our trusty vehicle did not enjoy some of our adventures, the flat tyre at Cataraqui memorial, site of one
of the many shipwrecks.
