Oscar’s 4th

With restrictions around Covid the birthday party had to become a series of smaller celebrations. The request was for a Paw Patrol Lookout, Oscar’s current obsession and chocolate cake. So the plan to make a Lookout tower required some more thought. The new plan was to make cupcakes; they would be  easy to serve, a candle on the birthday boy’s cake  only so no problems with blowing out the candle. Not wanting to disappoint the little man I decided to construct a tower and then park the cupcakes around the tower.

Chocolate mud cupcakes with chocolate ganache and these fabulous edible decals.

The tower

A construction of cardboard postal tube, plastic takeaway food containers, foam core board, masking tape, double sided tape, an irrigation tube and paint.

Robust enough to be played with.

There were other cakes

Another decal on a larger cake, this one for all the grandparents, the birthday boy and his parents. We were restricted to five visitors in the home but managed a small family dinner to celebrate.

A small cake to celebrate on the day. We pick Oscar up from daycare so this little cake was just big enough for three with some leftovers for the next day.

Then this one to have with his parents.
