Almost next door was a splendid coffee shop and cafe. Island Larder served my daily brew and a fabulous Reuben sandwich. King Island beef, corned and served with all the usual suspects.
Back to the crayfish. Twice to the wharf for fresh crayfish, once for sandwiches
And then for our last night on the Island. What better way to finish our Island dining - a big platter of crayfish and some salad
The bakery was great and once again very busy and a popular place
The crayfish pie was excellent as was the mince tart and iced coffee for afternoon tea.
There were two hotels in Currie both offering the usual range of meals and two supermarkets. There was also a Christmas market one night with quite a few food stalls, excellent barbecued octopus and Vietnamese style noodles. We had a splendid dinner on our first night, a small restaurant called Oleada. Very popular, fortunately we had prebooked as it was booked out for the rest of our time on the island.
Also cheese tasting at King Island Dairy and opportunities to visit a Distillery and King Island Brew House.
I also partook of the excellent coffee and home made cake at this roadside van.
Finally, some home cooking from Sonia, the proprietor of our Air BnB. Delicious hot scones, savoury cheese and then jam and cream for the sweet lovers.
