Beans for Dinner
The bean plants have been producing heavily with 850 grams picked in this lot and more to come. They re planted on our plot in the community garden as well as at home. Tucked in amongst the flowers and surprisingly bountiful. We may have overdone the planting.
Unlike most of our produce, the beans are not preserved. They are one of those crops that are meant to be enjoyed fresh so all visitors get a little bag to take home.
Ray at work on our community plot.
Beans for dinner. Deliciously tender, cooked quickly in a pot of boiling water until just cooked, drained and then dressed with a little oil and some toasted macadamia nuts. Almond slivers and hazelnuts are also good. Toss cold leftover beans into a salad.
