King Island

We are having a little holiday which we jokingly refer to as an overseas trip. In fact still within Australia to King Island, a small island of the state of Tasmania.

Of course there is obligatory airport shot, be kind we had to be up at four am to get the flight

And then all aboard the small thirty seater,

Our accomodation - spacious, comfy and perfectly located in the township of Currie.

A quick trip into town to check it out. Loved the big decoration on the trees in town.

Lunch at the bakery - lovely crayfish pie. A taste of things to come. King Island is well known for it’s produce - crayfish, octopus, cheese and beef.

First walk, down to the wharf. Luckily a boat was in and we were able to get a fresh crayfish. The crayman dived into the hold and got one out

And what a beauty

So delicious and a perfect filling for our picnic sandwiches.

A quiet relax after the big day of travel.
