The Holidays Are Over

The slow start to the year became a holiday. It has been a very relaxing break, there has been some creative stuff going on and plenty of catching up with people.

I have had a lot of fun making these little pots. A rummage through my scrap bin provided enough fabric to tear into strips and make into string. The string is coiled  and stitched to create the pots.

It was fabulous to have a couple of days away with my Stitch buddies

I spent a little time tidying up my projects from last year. A number of swaps and exchanges.

The first was a series of cat cards. Each month I made three similar cards, I kept one and then swapped the other two. I loved getting my swaps in the mail.

And these two sets are the swaps that I got back.

Icons, I did icons of the music industry or artist’s who’s music I enjoy listening to. My friend Lariane did significant woman in the areas of art and literature.

The swaps were made into a book.

A few of my favourites

These next set of books involved swapping altered papers, paint chips and collage.

January is also the time to preserve stone fruits for the year ahead.

And like all good holidays there has been plenty of great food.

A sweet ending to the holidays.
