Mitchell Falls

A very hot day, high thirties according to the staff at the lodge and a bit of a trial for the long trek in and out. The time at the waterhole gave us a chance to rest and cool off but was so glad to get back to the car!

The destination, more of a trickle due to very dry season.

The path sensibly marked by these arty posts.

A little stop along the way

I found this bird nest tucked in amongst the trees

Our first sight of water

The top of Big Murton Falls.

Water lilies just starting to flower.

Swimming hole above Mitchell Falls. A gorgeous place to rest, cool off and guzzle our water.

Lots of rocky terrain to traverse, my friend Jean referred to the track as a ‘goat’ track.
