Kununurra

A relatively short trip from Emma Gorge to Kununurra. We opted to spend the day taking in the sights. In true tourist form our first port of call was the Tourist Information Centre. Very helpful staff, we left with a cruise booked and instructions on how to find a number of tourist activities around town.

This  magnificent tree provided shade in the park opposite the Tourist Information Centre.

The entrance to Artopia Gallery. Masses of small Boab trees.

Detail of a mixed media painting that caught my eye.

And this one that caught my heart.

Then a trip out of town to the Sandalwood Outlet and just a little further down the road, the Hoochery, a rum distillery.

So many rums and rum liqueurs on offer as well as some excellent food.

The Lookout was a little underwhelming but it was there and it was home to a number of small rock stacks or cairns.

Detail of the entrance wall at Warringarri Aboriginal Arts. This gallery had an extensive collection of work for sale.

Late afternoon at lake Kununurra.

Waiting for our cruise to depart.

On the water, cruising the lake. Lots of birdlife, pre dinner drinks and snacks / cheeseboard followed by dinner as the sun set.

The promised sunset.
