This is another of those quickly made, no bake slices. Gluten free, providing you use gluten free rice puffs. It seems that rose flavour is something you either like or not, if making this slice for an unknown audience use less rosewater in the topping or omit it alltogether. I have a few friends who adore the rose flavour so if I make it for them I add a little more than is in the slice and at least four teaspoons in the topping.

Fig and Rose Bubble Slice
Slice
60 g butter
1 large block dark chocolate eg Club (180-220g)
1/2 cup glace cherries
4 - 6 glace figs
2 teaspoons rosewater
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups rice bubbles/puffs

Topping
1 large block dark chocolate eg Club (180-220g)
60 grams butter
2 - 4 teaspoons rosewater
To
decorate
chopped cherries and fig
(reserved from the slice mixture)

Line a slice tin with baking paper.
Cut up glace cherries and figs into small pieces.
Reserve approximately one third of the fruit to decorate the slice.
Break chocolate into small pieces put into a large
glass or microwave suitable bowl. Add butter and microwave on medium in I
minute intervals until butter and chocolate have melted.
Stir in glace fruits, rosewater and vanilla, add
rice bubbles and mix well.
Press into the slice tin and smooth.
Pour chocolate topping over the slice and
refrigerate for a few hours to allow to fully set.
Chocolate Topping
Melt chocolate and butter together in a glass or
microwave safe bowl on medium in 1 minute intervals, until melted. Add
rosewater and mix.
